Creating New Design Opportunities with Longden Doors

Longden doors are bringing a breath of fresh air to the market for luxury residential doors. The Longden range of solid timber, doors has been gracing some of the UK’s finest buildings for well over a hundred years. Many of our historic listed buildings have relied on Longden’s traditional craftsmanship and expertise to maintain and preserve their heritage.
But now, Longden’s passion for craftsmanship and tradition has opened up whole new opportunities for designers and contractors. The same expertise that has been used to provide doors for the Tate Gallery, the Dorchester hotel and Buckingham Palace is available to the luxury homes market and to designers who like to push boundaries and and for whom inspiration and quality are paramount.
By working closely with the customer, the interior designer and the architect, Longden can provide a complete end-to-end solution which can include joinery and design – there is no limit to what can be achieved, virtually any finish can be applied and no two doors are the same - ancillary items such as dado rails, skirting, plinth blocks and screens.
Longden bespoke doors use solid timber stiles, rails and muntins and are constructed using long-established methods such as through mortice and tenon wedged joints. The range can achieve up to FD60 (60-minutes) fire rating, with smoke control where needed and performance levels such as 38 RwdB sound reduction.
Longden provides the high standard of solid timber doors required by luxury residential builders such as Dwyer Homes and Manhattan Homes, and works in partnership with them from the design stage through to installation.
Recent projects include private residences in Belgravia, Chester Square, Eaton Sq, Wimbledon Village Mayfair and Lowndes Square in London, the Belgian Embassy, Sheffield City Hall and the former Patent Office.
