Doors To The Ultimate House In The Country

Queen Victoria, T.S. Elliot. Alfred Lord Tennyson. Once upon a time, all walked through the doors of the Lime Wood Hotel. And today, Longden is playing an important part in the story.
Newly refurbished, this five-star hotel, nestled in the New Forest National Park, has been transformed by a stunning fusion of heritage and fresh design, achieving its aim of becoming the ’ultimate house in the country.’ Longden, who has long since perfected the art of combining traditional with modern, was the natural choice to supply the doors.
Over 200 doorsets in Sheraton flat panel, raised and fielded panel and boarded panel were supplied for suites that include hand-picked art and antiques along with log fires, wood burning stoves, and the innovative use of natural materials such as wooden floors to echo the organic beauty of the surrounding forest grounds. The door sets were faced in Dorchester 2 panel, Lincoln 3 panel, Sussex 4 Panel and Chelsea 6 panel, specified to meet performance characteristics of 30 minutes fire resistance, while intumescent seals were incorporated to ensure smoke control.
Some of the door sets were specified in a West African Mahogany finish, enhancing the warm ambience of this unforgettable forest retreat, with others primed for on-site painting.
Longden door sets combine craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques to achieve a perfect balance of style, function and performance. They can be specified using timber and timber-based raw materials approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and exclusively from well-managed and sustainable sources.
Longden can enhance any theme, style or setting - and even create them - with truly bespoke door set designs. Whatever the project, Longden always delivers the ultimate in performance - as well as quality, craftsmanship and beauty.
