Scottish Projects Choose Longden

The Longden range of solid timber, panelled doors has been gracing some of the UK’s finest buildings for well over a hundred years and many of our historic listed buildings have relied on Longden’s traditional craftsmanship and expertise to maintain and preserve their heritage. Longden doors and doorsets were specified for three prestigious projects in south west Scotland recently.
Founded in 1878, Royal Troon Golf Club is one of the world’s best known golf clubs. The Old Course has been host to the British Open Championship eight times and has seen victories by many of golf’s most famous names including Tom Watson (1982) and Arnold Palmer (1962).
When the clubhouse was redeveloped and refurbished recently, Longden Sheraton flat panel doors and doorsets to the value of nearly £70,000 were specified for the project. The door styles used were Dorchester 2-panel and Sussex 4-panel styles in solid West African Mahogany and solid American White Oak.
Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries also chose Longden Sheraton flat panel doors for the refurbishment of their unique conference and wedding venue. The huge, elegant art deco hall is set in 100 acres of landscaped parkland looking across rolling lawns to the 19th century cathedral-style Crichton Church. Over £40,000 worth of doorsets were specified in Dorchester 2-panel and Chelsea 6-panel styles in Agba and Idigbo solid timber - bespoke fanlights were made to match the doors.
The Western House Hotel & Lodge is a new country house hotel situated in the grounds of Ayr Racecourse. The hotel has ten bedrooms with the lodge offering family accommodation in its 39 rooms. Longden supplied Chippendale raised and fielded Edinburgh 8-panel doorsets to the value of nearly £40,000 for the hotel, all the doors were made of American White Oak.
Longden can provide a complete end-to-end solution which can include joinery and design, ancillary matching items such as paneling for soffits and reveals, dado rails, skirting, plinth blocks and screens. In fact, there is virtually no limit to what can be achieved, practically any finish can be applied and no two doors are the same.
