Virtually any form of finish can be applied to Longden timber doors and doorsets, including paint, clear varnish and stain, all of which can be factory applied. Please note that with clear finishes, variations in colour and grain of timber will occur as timber is a natural material. Doors ordered for on-site painting are normally supplied pre-primed. Longden do not recommend that product is left clean for on site finishing.

Standard door finishes:
2 coats primer
Standard consists of two water-based primer, de-nib between. Top coats added on site by brush or spray and should be of a quality suitable to the location either internal or external.

3 coats acid catalyst lacquer
This has a 30% – 40% satin sheen as standard. Alternatively matt 5% – 20% or gloss 50% – 70% can be supplied. Tinted lacquers are also available.

Waterborne microporous
This is the standard finish used on external doors and doorsets.
